A CARAVAN and a car were set on fire in two separate incidents on the A130.
Firefighters from Basildon, Rayleigh Weir and Wickford were called to a lay-by near the Sadlers Farm roundabout yesterday, first at 10pm where they found a caravan on fire and later at about 11pm, where an old Ford Mondeo was also ablaze.
Three crews were sent as standard procedure for a fire on a main road and tackled the fires with hose reels.
The vehicles are believed to have been dumped on the lay-by and both fires were classed as deliberate.
