RESIDENTS in Corringham are being urged to get involved with a survey to determine the future of the borough’s first ever parish council.

The Frost Estate in Corringham applied to become Thurrock’s first ever parish council in January and in February a 380 strong petition was handed in urging the council to hold a referendum about creating a specialised community council.

A community governance review kicked off in September after being approved by Thurrock Council.

Residents are being urged to complete a survey, which forms Stage One of the review, by Sunday, November 9.

Janet Deeny, of Pembroke Avenue, said: “This weekend Sunday 9th Nov, is the deadline to hand in the survey- stage 1 of the community governance review -to decide if the Frost Estate residents will be granted parish council status.

“We need to remind people who've not completed the Council Survey.

Time is running out for you to have your say – Do it now please.”
