ATHLETICS: Canvey’s star middle-distance runner Jessica Judd will continue to be funded as part of British Athletics’ Podium Potential programme for the 2014/15 season.
Judd, who finished fourth in the 800m at the Commonwealth Games and also made the final of the European Championships last summer, is part of 39 Olympic and 29 Paralympic athletes to have been chosen on British Athletics’ second-level of funding.
The top funding level funding has been given to 20 athletes.
Basildon’s James Shane, who has been on the podium potential programme for the past two years, has been dropped from the funding.
Middle-distance runner Shane has suffered cruelly with injuries ever since making his World Championships debut in 2011.
Southend’s Paralympic shot-put medallist Robin Womack has also lost all his funding.
