MORE than £1,500 worth of jewellery was stolen from a house as its residents returned home.
The house, on Kents Hill Road, Benfleet, was broken into on October 30 after thieves smashed a window to gain entry.
They then stole a number of items, including a solitaire diamond engagement ring and a gold diamond eternity ring, before jumping from an upstairs window when the residents returned home at about 7pm.
Anybody who saw any suspicious vehicles or people in the area are asked to contact Det Con Andy Copley on non-emergency number 101.
Alternatively, information may be given to Crimestoppers anonymously via www.crimestoppers-uk.org or 0800 555 111.
