A CAR showroom in Grays town centre is undergoing a revamp...and rebrand.

The Brayley Honda site, in Orsett Road, which has operated as a car dealership since 1898, when it was the New Century Motor Works, is to become Brayley Mazda, tying in with a £250,000 renovation.

Honda customers will still be able to get their cars repaired and serviced at the centre, but it will only sell Mazda cars.

Jason Sayers, Brayley’s sales manager in Grays, said: "We’ve built a successful business with Honda for over eight years and our links with them will continue as an authorised service and repair outlet but we are excited to be representing Mazda and showcasing a terrific line up of cars to the local community next year. There’s a great opportunity for at least two dynamic sales people to join our team."

Keen on maintaining the historic connection that the business has with the town, Paul Brayley, Managing Director of Brayleys Cars, said: "It’s humbling to think that one family owned this business for over a hundred years so I consider it a privilege to maintain a long tradition of good customer service.

"Orsett Road isn’t just another dealership, it really is a piece of history and part of the fabric of the community and we are looking forward to keeping this going."
