THIS week, Wayne Riley, clinical dental technician, at Changing Faces Denture Clinic, Chafford 100 Dental Care, Drake Road, Grays, tells us why he loves it here...

Q: What do you love about Thurrock?

A: Thurrock is a place where people demand quality, they know it when they see it and appreciate it when they get it.

Q: What has kept you here?

A: I couldn’t have wished to move into a better working environment.

It is our aim to improve smiles and give people who suffer with ill-fitting or false-looking dentures the confidence to smile more often. The provision of well-fitting, goodlooking dentures can be a real life-changer.

Q: How do you see the future for your business in the borough?

A: The Denture Clinic is moving from strength to strength as more people are becoming aware of the range of services we offer under one roof. Discerning patients are our lifeblood and there seems to be a lot of them in Thurrock. The objective of our business is improving lives by helping people with denture problems overcome these issues.

Q: How do you think other parts of Essex see Thurrock?

A: I am afraid I know very little about other parts of Essex, but it’s certainly an area that people don’t mind travelling to.

I am now treating people from all over Essex. I know quite a few of the patients I see combine the trip to the Denture Clinic with a visit to Lakeside after they have seen me!

Q: What advice would you give to people wanting to set up their own business in the borough?

A: The people of Thurrock expect quality, make sure they get it!

Q: What made you start your business here?

A: The practice at Chafford Hundred was exactly the kind of place we were looking for to establish a Denture Clinic. Dr Dave Basrai is a forward-thinking principal, keen on encouraging experts in all the fields of the industry to bring their skills to his practice. It is a rare and special thing to be able to offer a comprehensive range of treatments as those provided here.

Q: What does the business give to the community?

A: We help many people feel more confident and put a smile on many people’s faces.

Q: What is your favourite bit about the Gazette?

A: I don’t think there can be a better finger on the pulse of any local area than the local newspaper. You can learn so much about the place just by looking at the local paper.
