PLANS to build homes on two plots were shelved during a Thurrock Council planning meeting on Thursday.
Proposals have been put forward to demolish a bungalow and outbuildings and to build 19 homes in their place, in Branksome Avenue, Stanford-le-Hope.
Plans to demolish a garage in South Road, South Ockendon, and build seven houses were also being considered.
Both schemes were put on hold after councillors agreed site visits were needed before a decision was made.
A woman resident of South Road said: “The developers are only thinking about profit without considering the effects on residents.”
Decisions on the two plans are set to be made at the next meeting in September.
