- Blues look to bounce back from their opening day defeat to Billericay in their first home game of the new campaign
Thank you for following tonight's coverage!
Jody Brown has the players sat in a circle on the pitch now.
Nikki Bull was outstanding for Margate and Freddy Lapado looked a threat for Grays, but Bull wasn't ever tested properly.
Two games, two defeats for Grays now.
So, another disappointing evening for Blues. They're undone by one Charlie Allen wonder goal and a free kick by Sam Rents - one goal in either half.
Grays Athletic 0 - 2 Margate
Aaron Best-Riley plays in a free kick and again Bull punches clear. An immense and commanding performance by the Margate stopper
Three minutes added on.
Joao Carlos plays it in, it drops to Griffiths, but he can't direct it goalwards.
Lots of possession for Blues now as we enter the last two minutes. Still nothing to test Bull though. A corner now...
Some of Margate's attacking play has been great. Moss and Allen link up during a swift counter attack, but neither can get a shot away.
Grays Athletic: Akasi Marfo enters the fray in place of Jordan Wilson
Allen tees up a volley for himself from 25 yards out, but it goes high over the bar.
It's another great ball, but Best-Riley heads clear.
Sam Rents gets another chance to cross from the right now, as Griffiths fouls Allen....
Super ball in by Rents, headed wide by Moss.
Corner for Margate...
Grays Athletic: Jonathan Glowacki on for Chris Bryan
Margate: Luke Moore is replaced by Luke Williams.
Best-Riley then makes an excellent tackle in the box as Gate counter attack.
Blues have 15 minutes to salvage something. Carlos plays in a free kick from the right, but again Bull clears.
Grays Athletic: Joey Benjamin is replaced by Leroy Griffiths
Bull - who has been excellent tonight - punches clear.
Played in low by Bryan and scooped over the bar...another corner...
Corner for Blues, more good play by Lapado...
Benjamin crosses from the right but Carlos can't connect.
Rents is over another free kick now. This one is much further out though and Leader can head clear.
Leroy Griffiths is being readied for Blues. He isn't coming on just yet though.
Blues with it all to do now.
Sam Rents scores. His low free kick goes straight in.
GOAL! Grays Athletic 0 - 2 MARGATE - Sam Rents, 68'
Now Margate have a chance. Free kick on the corner of the box, Rents over it...
Carlos plays in Benjamin. He gathers - with his hand by the looks of things - but sees his effort trickle wide.
Then Benjamin's cross from the left is hopelessly overhit.
Lapado chases a ball that looked destined for Bull, he gets there first but no one is in the Margate box for Blues.
He wins a corner but it's cleared.
Great stuff by Carlos on the right. He cuts inside plays the ball into Wilson who threads it through to Lapado in the box, but the forward's shot is blocked.
Margate: Zac Attwood on for Jason Prior
More nice football from Grays. Everett's low cross is again gathered well by Bull.
Terrific ball into the box by Bryan! But no one makes contact!
More good stuff from Lapado. His cross isn't great, but Taylor can only put the ball behind. The corner is really well caught by Bull
Lovely stuff from Lapado down the right. His cross finds Carlos on the edge of the box, but the winger drags his shot wide.
The second half is underway
The teams are out for the second half.
Blues have had fractionally more of the ball but done little with it. Margate have looked sharper in the final third and lead courtesy of a Charlie Allen wonder strike.
Grays Athletic 0 - 1 Margate
Another nice piece of play by Margate leads to Charlie Allen getting a shot away, but it's wide.
One minute added on here.
Really nice skill and strength by Benjamin in the byline, rolling away from two and firing a low cross into the box. Bull gathers it well.
Corner for Grays now. But it doesn't clear the near post.
Gough gets down at his near post to save a low shot from Rents. Nice pass to him by Moore. Gough then clears the corner.
Carlos becoming more involved. He has the better of new full back Phipps with his pace. He helps work a shooting chance for Benjamin, but it's a poor shot.
Another free kick is awarded to Blues, offering another chance to get the ball into the box.
Leader nods it down, Carlos tees up Bryan to cross and Bull punches clear.
Grays on top at the moment.
Benjamin with a free kick from the right. It's cleared to the left and Carlos' cross from there is poor.
Sails through a crowd of players.
Corner for Margate...
Charlie Allen gallops forward for Gate and under little pressure attempts a toe poke from 20 yards. It's just wide.
Lovely knock down by Lapado, Beaney runs on to it but scuffs the half volley well wide.
Margate change: Riviere is being forced off through injury. Tom Phipp coming on.
It's cleared at the near post before Grays snuff out the Margate counter attack.
Referee awards Grays a corner. Chance now.
Bryan with it...
Some good sustained pressure by Grays - and a decent response to going behind. Benjamin gets two crosses in, the second beats the first man but between them, neither Lapado nor Carlos can get an effort on target.
Wilson plays a free kick into the Margate box. Easily taken by Bull, though.
Well worked Margate corner sees Kane Wills lay the ball short to Prior. His cross beats everyone though.
Sumptuous from Allen. A looping effort from 30 yards beats Gough - who was slightly off his line - and lands in the top corner.
Great goal. Wonderful strike.
GOOAAALL!! Grays Athletic 0 - 1 MARGATE - Charlie Allen, 15'
Margate, in contrast are looking composed but lacking a cutting edge in the final thirs as yet.
Blues lacking composure at the moment. There a little rushed in possession but playing ok. They've certainly had the best chance so far.
Andy Swallow is in the technical area for Grays. Jody Brown is in the stand, behind me.
Then Joao Carlos gets a cross in, Lapado can't get anything on the ball, but it falls to Benjamin, who's offside.
Everett plays a long ball into the Margate box, it evades the centre back Brett Johnson and falls to Bryan, but Johnson recovers well.
Blues clear and Moss skies the ball over the bar after collecting the ball.
Lovely flowing attack by Margate and the ball lands with Allen on the edge of the Blues box, his shot is blocked.
Nikki Bull in the Margate goal tested for the first time. Bryan jinks inside of Allen and tees up Benjamin, but his low shot is saved. Good chance!
Another probing ball into the box, this time by Riviere, but again Gough gathers well.
Early ball into the Athletic box is comfortably gathered by Gough.
The teams are coming out for the match now.
Margate are looking for their second win. They beat Hampton and Richmond Borough on Saturday.
Lewis Taylor scored 13 minutes from time for Gate.
And today will see the debut of Blues new kit! Of which a teasing sneak peak was posted on the Grays Athletic website earlier today.
Blues boss Brown was optimistic in defeat on Saturday. He watched his side lose 2-0 to Billericay Town. A home win today against Margate, one of the favourites for the league, would be a great way to bounce back and kickstart the season.
A new signing in the Blues squad: centre half and former Stoke City trainee Manny Parry.
