Ancient art is revived at a North Stifford church
A CHURCH in North Stifford celebrated 100 years of the Diocese of Chelmsford through the ancient art of well dressing.
St Mary’s, in High Road, brought the 12th-century tradition to the village last week.
It involved a wooden frame filled with clay, which was decorated with natural materials, such as flower petals and seeds.
The dressing will be left on display at the church for the foreseeable future.
