THE winner of this year's Thurrock Community Chest prize will be drawn at the Orsett Show for the first time...and a TV star will be doing the honours.

Jeff Brazier, the star of this year's Thameside Theatre pantomime, will pick out the winner during an appearance at the show where he'll also mingle with the crowds.

Community Chest volunteers have been busy selling tickets in the area, with the top prize this year set to be a Vauxhall Adam donated by Tony Levoi Vauxhall.

It will be the first time that the winner of the annual prize draw - which raises money for charity - will be announced at the Orsett Show, taking place on Saturday, September 6.

The annual Orsett Show, now in its 108th year, is always a great day out for all the family with lots to see and do.

It is one of the oldest one-day country shows in England and last year, it attracted 12,000 visitors.

There will be marquees featuring and showcasing horticulture, agriculture, hobbies and handicrafts, schools, craft stalls along with over 100 trade stands arranged around the outside of the show ground.

In the central grand display ring there’s an ever-changing programme of exciting displays.

This year, entry to the show is free for children under 16 when accompanied by a full paying adult.

Adult tickets are £12 on the day or £10 if bought in advance. Concessions for OAPs are £10 on the day or £8 in advance.

Tickets can be bought online by visiting www.orsettshow.co.uk/advance-tickets.asp until August, 23 2014.
