A CHARITY shop celebrated its first year with a tea party.
The Havens Hospices shop, in Lodge Lane, opened in July last year and volunteers and customers celebrated a total of £90,000 of sales since then.
Manager Clare Bowler said: “I love working in a retail environment – there are always different people to talk to.
“There’s lots of support from the local community and people come from all over the town to buy goods and make donations.
“There’s a lovely community spirit here and I’m glad we’re making a difference as each sale means more money for the hospices.”
