ONE of the most successful Beatles tributes acts has got a ticket to ride to Grays.

The Cavern Beatles, who are officially licensed by the famous Liverpool club which hosted the Fab Four’s early performances, will be performing at the Thameside Theatre on Saturday, September 20.

Featuring Paul Tudhope as John Lennon, Chris O’Neill as Paul McCartney, Rick Alan as George Harrison and Simon Ramsden as Ringo Starr, the group have even been praised by Sir Paul himself after seeing them perform at the Concert for George in 2002 following the Beatle’s death.

They can also lay claim to being the only tribute band to have ever received a review in the Beatles Book, a magazine published every month since 1963, distributed worldwide.

The band also featured in a film made in conjunction with the Beatles’ label Apple for a promotional event at Abbey Road Studios in 1992, celebrating 30 years since the release of the first Beatles single Love Me Do.

Tickets are £20 for adults and £15 for under-16s and are available at www.thurrock.gov.uk/events/ cavern-beatles or by calling the box office on 0845 3005264.
