THE sun shone over Grays Beach park as national and local stars came out for Thurrock Festival 2014.

Thousands of people flocked to the two-day event, which went off without a hitch over the weekend, as X Factor and Britain's Got Talent stars joined talented locals on a packed bill dubbed "the borough's celebration".

On Sunday, the festival was closed by popular local band The Heaters, who followed former X Factor star Danyl Johnson - making his second appearance in three years at the festival - onto the stage.

Earlier in the day, Henrietta of Britain's Got Talent fame and another former X Factor star, Misha B, entertained the crowd.

Local artists Natasha Corrigan, Louis Sorrell-Wilde and Ragan Price also took to the stage on Sunday.

Saturday night was closed with a party as Kimberly Wyatt from the Pussycat Dolls was in town to do a special DJ set, preceded by a set from up and coming local DJ Leon Rowland.

Loveable Rogues and Lydia Lucy, who both made a name for themselves on X Factor, performed earlier in the day.

Eccentric talent Tall Dark Friend made a Thurrock Fest return and Danny White, whose popularity in Thurrock has grown massively over the last two years, featured early on Saturday evening.

On top of a great selection of music, festival-goers were able to browse numerous stalls, attend various workshops and enjoy a large array of food and drink.
