PROUD pupils at an Aveley primary school have “graduated”
after successfully delivering a lesson to their peers.
The 13 Kenningtons Primary Academy pupils donned gowns and mortar boards to receive scrolls from deputy mayor, Sue Gray, and Thurrock’s director of children’s services, Carmen Littleton, recognising the completion of their Learning Leaders programme.
As part of their training, the children observed adult teaching and attended planning sessions before planning and taking lessons themselves.
Raj Shina, who led the course, said the experience had done wonders for the youngsters’ confidence.
Year 3 pupils Kasey Moss and Madison Coggin graduated as English leaders and Teddie Keith graduated as a maths leader.
Among Year 4 pupils, Adam Herd and Mia Bowers graduated as maths leaders, with Cherion Woolcock graduating as an English leader, while Year 5 pupils Lois Smith and Demi Ayanbadejo graduated as maths leaders and Abby Wellington as an English leader.
In Year 6 Harry Herd and Hollie Sheddon graduated as maths leaders while Ifeoluwa Orekoya and Hope Russell graduated as English leaders.
