WITNESSES are being asked to come forward after a man was attacked and robbed in his car.
The 30-year-old man was sat in a red Renault Megane on Argent Street, near Wouldham Road, Grays, at about 11pm on Friday when he was assaulted by three men, who made off with his car keys, paperwork and a starter motor.
The man was treated at the scene by paramedics for a number of cuts and bruises to his face and, a few hours later, Mark Harding was arrested and charged with one count of robbery.
The 41-year-old unemployed man from Argent Street was detained in police custody prior to his appearance at Basildon Magistrates Court on Monday.
He was then remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Basildon Crown Court on October 3.
Officers are looking to identify and trace two other suspects they describe as black, about 5ft 7ins tall and wearing sports jumpers.
Anyone with information in connection with this robbery is urged to contact detectives at Grays police station on 101.
