Woman taken to hospital after A13 crash
Updated 12:34pm Sunday 29th June 2014 in News
THE A13 was closed for two hours after a car flipped over onto its roof.
A woman had to be cut free from her black Ford Fiesta after she lost control and crashed in the early hours of this morning.
She was taken by paramedics to the Royal London Hospital following concerns she had sustained a head injury, but scans and tests revealed she had escaped unhurt.
It took firefighters an hour to free the driver from the wreckage, and the road remained closed while police officers carried out initial investigations at the scene.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “A road crash happened when the female driver of a black Ford Fiesta appears to have lost control of the car while travelling eastbound along the A13 near Aveley, and flipped the car shortly after 12.30am.
“Roads policing officers were forced to close the carriageway while paramedics and firefighters freed the driver from the wreckage and then treated her.
“She was taken to the Royal London Hospital but was discharged after it was established she was uninjured.
“The road reopened at 2.30am.”
