A BAND widely regarded as the best Eagles tribute act are to play in Grays.

Talon, who are now in their 17th year together, have been recognised by the Agents Association of Great Britain at the National Tribute Awards as the official UK number one Eagles tribute show.

The Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971 by Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner. With five No 1 singles, six Grammy awards, five American Music Awards and six No 1 albums, the Eagles were one of the most successful musical acts of the Seventies.

They split up in 1979 – and reformed in 1994.

They continue to tour to this day.

Replicating the sound of one of the greatest rock bands is a formidable feat, but one for which Talon have won many plaudits.

Their 2014 production features all the classic Eagles hits, including Hotel California, Lyin’ Eyes, Take It Easy, Desperado, Take It To the Limit, Life In the Fast Lane, the Last Resort and many more.

The band, formed by Chris Lloyd, Peter Anderson, Jonny Miller and Tony Vegas, have developed and perfected a powerful four-part vocal harmony and a near-on perfect replica of the Eagles definitive sound.

Talon’s spectacular show is put on with the help of a technical crew and Charlie Kenny on drums and Craig Wainwright on the keyboards.

Talon are at the Thameside Theatre on Wednesday, July 9.

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets are priced at £20. To book, or for more information, call the box office on 0845 3005264.
