A ROAD in South Ockendon has reopened following a serious accident involving a teenage boy on his bike and a car.
The incident happened on Stifford Road between Daiglen Drive and Foyle Drive earlier this afternoon at around 3pm.
A doctor rushed to the scene follwoing fears the accident could be life threatening, but those concerns have since eased.
The mother of the boy went to the scene, too, and the youngster has been taken to hospital following treatment on the roadside.
Stifford Road was closed for more than two hours, but reopened just after 5.30pm.
Police are urging any witnesses to the collision to contact police on 101.
