MORE than £30,000 has been spent injecting new life into a Grays park.
New play equipment, fencing and footpaths have been installed in the children’s play area at Blackshots, next to Impulse Leisure, after residents clubbed together, with help from the council and North Thames Veolia Trust.
Pupils at nearby Deneholm Primary School helped with designs for the park's revamp.
PC Lee Argent, who is a governor at Deneholm, revealed a new skate park may be in the offing.
He said: “The long-term plan is to secure more funds and get more equipment.
All of this is done by people committing their own time and effort.”
There is a meeting at Impulse Leisure on Friday at 9.30am to talk about the next phase of the project.
