MORE than £30,000 has been spent injecting new life into a Grays park.

New play equipment, fencing and footpaths have been installed in the children’s play area at Blackshots, next to Impulse Leisure, after residents clubbed together, with help from the council and North Thames Veolia Trust.

Pupils at nearby Deneholm Primary School helped with designs for the park's revamp.

PC Lee Argent, who is a governor at Deneholm, revealed a new skate park may be in the offing.

He said: “The long-term plan is to secure more funds and get more equipment.

All of this is done by people committing their own time and effort.”

There is a meeting at Impulse Leisure on Friday at 9.30am to talk about the next phase of the project.

Well done Thurrock council and others who got this going. It's about time now that the council directed resoruces at Grays Beach, which is the flagship park for the area.

For the second year in a row the water attraction is not working and speaking to the staff there are no plans to fix it. This seems to be backed up by the council website, which states the water attraction wont open at all in 2014.

Come on Thurrock Council, our children deserve btter than this.

WHAT IS A BEACH WITHOUT WATER !!!!
