A STANFORD-LE-HOPE teen is Torquay-bound for the finals of a prestigious beauty pageant.

Emily Darnley, 16, made the finals of the competition, staving off stiff competition from 80 other contestants at Keltham Hall in Nottingham recently.

The girls were put through a series of challenges including a military-style boot camp run by Xtreme Boot Camps and an Eco round.

Emily, a pupil at Gable Hall School in Corringham, will now take part in the Miss England final in Torquay on June 14 to 16.

The winner of Miss England 2014 will win a holiday in Mauritius, and will compete in the Miss World Competition.

As part of the competition, the girls support a charity, with Emily’s choice being Beauty with a Purpose, an organisation backed by Miss World that benefits disadvantaged children the world over.

Emily won the Miss Fresh Teen contest in 2013. She is pictured here with stylist, friend and fellow Stanford resident Sean Morgan-Bunney.
