A DRAMATIC timelapse video has just been released showing the new Thurrock Campus of South Essex College rise from the ground in just 60 seconds.

It shows the site being cleared, the shops on New Road being demolished and the huge metal frame being erected.

The new build has two separate buildings and opens in Grays high street this September, with this video focussing on the larger West Building as it fills the screen and space that was there before it.

Angela O'Donoghue, Principal and Chief Executive for the College, said: "It's astonishing to see the £45million building be formed in front of your very eyes. It is all on time and will be handed over to the College by the main contractors, Skanska, in July."

The College will then be working on transferring items from the current Thurrock Campus and readying student and staff areas with new equipment and new facilities ready for this coming September.
