A "SERIOUS trespass" incident caused for trains heading to London via East Tilbury to be suspended.
Messages tweeted off the C2C Twitter feed said a train was at a stand at East Tilbury station and would not be moving until 6.30pm at the earliest.
A trespass incident was blamed for the delays.
All lines were reopen by 6.50pm, though delays remained.
The Gazette understands the train and its driver were involved in the incident and another driver has been sent for.
One C2C tweet read: "London-bound trains via East Tilbury are disrupted due to a #trespass incident there.
"Country-bound trains are currently unaffected."
Another read: "London-bound trains via East Tilbury are currently suspended. Hope to have trains moving there by 18:30/19:00."
