POLICE want to identify a man pictured in this e-fit in connection with a rape investigation in Grays.

A woman in her 20s was sexually assaulted inside her flat near Parsonage Road by a man shortly before 2:30pm on Wednesday, December 18, last year. He drove off in a white Ford Transit.

Police believe the man lives in the Thurrock area.

Since the incident, detectives have been interviewing the victim in detail in order to obtain a detailed account of the assault as well as the man who committed the crime.

The man is described as white, in his late 40s to early 50s, of large build and bald. At the time, he had grey stubble on his face and was wearing worn, faded blue jeans, a navy-blue round-neck jumper and builder’s boots.

Senior Investigating Officer, DI Jamie Gingell, said: “In order to maintain the integrity of our investigation, we have been forced to undertake a number of behind-the-scenes enquiries to identify the man shown in the e-fit we are now releasing.

“We would ask people to look at it and contact us with a name. We believe he lives in the Thurrock area.”

Anyone with information in connection with this rape allegation is urged to contact detectives at Brentwood’s Sexual Offences Investigation Team on 101, Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or email the incident room SOIT@essex.pnn.police.uk
