Thurrock's loss today has seen them drop out of the play-off places. Dereham jump up to 4th in the division.

Devastating result for Fleet. They should have won this game in the first half.

Full time- Thurrock 1-3 Dereham Town

Thurrock pushing for a second but Lewis Clark cross is well overhit.

That was the hosts first shot on target for almost 20 minutes. Thurrock have fallen apart in the second half.

Rob Clark fires a late consolation in for Thurrock. A terrific strike but very much a consolation.

There is some unrest at the decision to take off Ross Wall who had been excellent before his withdrawal.

It's three nil and very much game over. The ball is fed through to Kyle Downs and he slides the loose ball past Walker.

Apologies for any overlap in updates!

Dereham have made their final two changes. Tuttle is replaced by Kyle Downs and Liam Upton comes on for Bussens.

Spence and Jordan Clark combine to set up namesake Rob Clark but he shoots wide once again. Dereham will be happy if they can restrict the home side to shots from range.

Double substitution for Thurrock: Ross Wall and Jordan Clark are replaced by Kurt Smith and Callum Ibe

Thurrock have been dealt a body blow with that second goal. The away side weren't in this first half!

Hawkins fires comfortably past Walker. 2-0 to the visitors.

A terrific reverse pass by substitute Howell frees Willis in the box but he is barged to the floor by Spence and it's a penalty to the Magpies.

Dereham penalty kick!

Sorry for the delay I have been having technical problems!

Knight screams at Sam Smith after another misplaced pass. The striker is getting more and more frustrated.

Rob Clark breaks forward but shoots horribly wide. If anything the Thurrock shots seem to be heading further away from goal. They need a spark from somewhere.

Substitution for Dereham: Nicky Howell replaces Aaron Kay

Hawkins shoots on the run but he hits across the ball and it is out of danger. Visitors on top. David Knight, who was excellent in the first half, hasn't had a touch in the last 15 minutes.

Thurrock hierarchy getting increasingly nervous alongside me in the press area.

Tuttle fizzes a shot wide from the edge of the box. Away side in the driving seat. Thurrock struggling to break down a much improved away defence.

Danny Beaumont nets his 16th of the season. Calamitous defending by Connor Martin sees Bussens nick the ball off him and roll the ball cross the six yard box for a tap in!

Goal for Dereham Town!

Knight and Wall link up very well on the edge of the box but once again there is no end result.

Thurrock have not started this half well. The visitors look more sprightly and are seeing most of the ball.

Hawkins barges his way into the box from full-back but Walker comes out to collect. Well claimed.

Knight rips the ball over the wall but the keeper holds comfortably.

A freekick on the edge of the box. Great position for Fleet.

Knight is again causing problems. This time it is Hawkins and Morphew who are tied in knots. But the hot shot can't finds his way into the box and the ball is cleared.

Thurrock get us underway in the second half.

Thurrock by far the better side but no goals to show for it. Dereham improved as the half went on.

The ball is cleared and the referee blows his whistle for half time. The score is 0-0.

Wall is making the home side tick. He is linking up play really well - he looks for the run of Knight but this time the pass is over hit. Dereham break and win a corner with halftime imminent.

Knight is in! Spence wins the ball brilliantly in midfield and squares to Wall. His ball over the top finds Knight but the ball won't drop for the 31 goal man and he strikes over from 15 yards.

Wall breaks down the left but his low delivery evades the on rushing Jordan Clark and is cleared.

Knight chases a loose ball over the top and wins a corner. The ball falls to Lewis Clark but he is challenged by the keeper. The away fans are calling for a freekick but nothing is given. The loose ball almost drops to Gilman but he can't get the ball out of his feet and the danger is cleared.

Thurrock have been stifled in the past ten minutes. Their swift passing game is being disrupted by Dereham and they haven't created a lot.

Tuttle and Kaylink up well down the right, with the latter's cross winning a corner. The ball is towards Sturman but is well cleared.

Borrer is back on the pitch and straight back into the action. He links up well with Willis but his shot flies over from 20 yards. Fleet break but Jordan Clark lashes wide.

Aaron Kay swings in a nice ball from the right but the keeper claims and sportingly puts it out for Borrer to receive treatment. The midfielder was caught by Spence.

Knight reads the game very well. A mistimed header by Sturman almost sees him in but the ball is cleared.

Thurrock have once again dropped off the pace. They should be at least two goals up here so Stimson will be looking for his side to keep the pressure up.

Strong running by Bussens almost sees the visitors break through but he plays a loose ball when an easy one would have slipped Tuttle through!

Higgins has scored his ninth goal in 11 games since his return to Rocks!

Dereham are still unable to clear their lines when the ball is played in over the top. Any pressure on the back four is resulting in success for Fleet.

Wall is in! He has the keeper to beat but he smashes it straight at Wilton who blocks brilliantly!

Wall is fouled by Sturman 30 yards from goal. Rob Clark and Knight over the ball but it is diverted behind for a corner. The ball is whipped in but cleared off the line!

Knight with a speculative shot that clips the cross bar! Great effort!

The game has slowed after a fast start. Dereham look much better when they pass the ball in midfield.

Dereham have been able to get the ball in midfield in the past few minutes and have some good technicians in that area. Adam Smith looks a good player.

Knight with a shot from 18 yards but the shot is well claimed by Wilton.

Tuttle shoots from 25 yards but it is an easy one for Walker to collect. First time he has touched the ball.

BrilliAnt counter attack by Thurrock. Jordan Clark wins possession and sets Knight away but his shot is brilliantly cleared by Sturman. Spence shoots from the resulting corner but it is blocked once again! Really good early pressure.

Dereham can't clear their lines at the moment. Wall shoots now but Wilton is able to collect.

Sutton strides out from the back after winning possession and he plays in Knight. The striker crosses but it is beyond Wall. The rangy frontman collects the ball and delivers a deep cross to Knight - whose header bounces off the base of the post!

Knight is looking lively rarely on. He is played in over the top by Wall but the ball slows up on the pitch and Willis can clear the danger.

The deep cross is towards Gilman but he is well marshalled by Morphew.

Knight shoots from the edge of the box but the shot is blocked and rolls through to Wilton. Almost a calamity for the away keeper though as he misses his kick and Thurrock have a corner.

Positive start from the visitors. Beaumont plays in Bussens but his cross is well cleared away.

Dereham get us underway.

Teams are out. Kick off moments away.

Thurrock will be in yellow and green for today's match with Dereham in their traditional black and white stripes.

David Knight will be banned for four games after picking up ten yellow cards this season and a red against Waltham Abbey last weekend. He will miss trips to Soham Town Rangers, Waltham Forest and Ware and the home match vs Redbridge.

Rob Girdlestone on the Thurrock bench has recently joined from the West Ham youth set up. He will probably get some minutes later with a number of suspensions coming into play next weekend.

We will keep you updates with all other Thurrock scores as well as the other teams in south Essex - all of whom are in action this afternoon.

There are three 'Smith's' and three 'Clark's' today. I will do my best to make it clear who is who!

Fleet won the reverse fixture in December, with goals from Lewwis Spence and Knight proving the difference.

Dereham have only five matches remaining. A win today and they can also be confident picking up points in all their upcoming matches.

The seventh placed Magpies have scored 90 goals in their 41 matches so far - a total bettered only by VCD Athletic and Witham Town and Fleet must be particularly wary of 15 goal Daniel Beaumont.

However, Dereham were delay a blow this week after forward Shaun Bammant joined Ryman Premier side Lowestoft Town.

This Ryman North League encounter comes at a vital time in the season, with only a handful of fixtures remaining.

Thurrock currently lie in fifth place, occupying the last play-off position. Fleet have endured a rocky couple of weeks and haven't won in the last three league matches, suffering two defeats on the spin.
However, this match aside, the home side can look on a fairly favourable run in, although they do have to travel to play-off chasing Soham Town Rangers - a game they will have to face without 31-goal David Knight.

Good afternoon and welcome to the Thurrock Gazette's live text update coverage of Thurrock FC vs Dereham Town.
