FIVE pupils at Herringham Primary Academy won trophies at the Performance Poetry Competition, held at the Civic Hall, Grays.
Joy Amouzou-Akue won the Year Two individual category and Erika Alvarez, Mackenzie Harrison, KaceyMizon and Aimee Staines took home the trophy for the Years Five and Six small group category.
Nineteen schools from the area entered the heats, which were held at Lansdowne Primary Academy, Tilbury, and Kenningtons Primary Academy, Aveley.
