65 not out – Robert and Mabel
A COUPLE from Stifford Clays celebrated 65 happy years of marriage last week.
Robert Pike, 89, and his wife Mabel, 88, of Fleethall Grove, got married at St Johns Church, Tilbury, and both worked at the Bata shoe factory in East Tilbury. Robert worked there for 51 years before retiring.
The couple have two children, five grandchildren and eight grandchildren.
