Great win for Rocks this afternoon. They played really win and had solid performances all over the pitch. A hat trick for Higgins, two for Gilbey and one for Richmond.

East Thurrock 6-1 Hendon

Hendon doing some last minute pressing but this game has been over since half time.

East Thurrock are not settling for six. Stephen has been really impressive at full back this afternoon and, we're it not for Higgins performance, would be my MOM!

This score line is perhaps harsh on Hendon who really didn't stand a chance after Maclaren went off injured.

Lewis Smith unleashes a thricker from 25 yards which crashes off the underside of the bar and out. However, the ball falls to Gilbey and he makes no mistake from five yards.

It's six goals for East Thurrock!

East Thurrock have taken their chances this afternoon. A few more results like this and they will be well away from danger. Two very good home results in a week will do wonders for John Coventry's sides confidence.

Double change for Rocks. Sammons and Higgins are replaced by Ross Parmenter and Sam Lechmere.

Gilbey breaks through after a defensive slip by stand in defender O'Leary and makes no mistake, drinking past the on rushing McDonnell.

It's five for Rocks!

Higgins tops off a fantastic performance with the goal of the game!

Higgins turns on the edge of the box and smashes it into the far corner. Brilliant goal.

It's another goal and a hat trick for Sam Higgins!

Leon Smith deserves his goal after a frustrating afternoon. He is played through and although he is forced out wide he smashes low insidenthe near post.

Hendon have a goal back!

Fair play to Hendon. They are continuing to press despite the man disadvantage. Nkumu and Bryan link up well but to no avail. Rocks break but Gilbey shoots straight at McDonnell.

Looks like he is unable to continue. Hendon down to ten men.

Casey Maclaren is down for Hendon. Worrying seeing as they have made their three changes!

Casey Maclaren is down for Hendon. Worrying seeing as they have made their three changes!

Hendon don't look like forcing a comeback. If anything Rocks looking the most likely.

Final change for Hendon. Skipper Kevin Maclaren is replaced by Jose Figura.

Double change Flegg and Taggart off and replaced by Dave Diedhiou and Anthony Thomas.

Richmond should have made it four within seconds of the restart. The loose ball is misjudged by Bennett and Bryant is away down the right. His near post cross is met by Richmond but it is a poor contact and the danger is gone.

Teams are back out. Rocks to get us underway.

Really good first half from Rocks. They have been very clinical with their chances and although Hendon look good in possession they have failed to truly test David Hughes. Changes must be made at halftime for the visitors, with Leon Smith floundering up front.

East Thurrock 3-0 Hendon

The forward was left with the easy task of tapping in from five has when Higgins squared the ball. Hendon have been poor this afternoon.

It's 3-0 and it's Neil Richmond!

Kevin Maclaren whips in a freekick but straight at Hughes.

From the Dons corner Dvid Bryant broke up field beating two men before playing the ball cross field into the path of Higgins. The front man doesn't need a touch a fires low into the near post from 18 yards!

Goal for Higgins! And what a goal!

Michael Bryan does really well in the penalty box but his cross is blocked behind by Sammons. The corner falls to Flegg but that is cleared.

Symons is booked for a cynical challenge.

Gilbey breaks through and his pass with the outside of the boot is just cleared by Flegg. Higgins looks to find space to shoot but another block sees the ball cleared. Game is evenly balanced now.

Really good run down the left by Jack Bennett and his cross is blocked behind by Stephen at the far post.

Tony Taggart with a fierce shot from outside the box but it is deflected wide. Resulting corner is cleared.

East Thurrock looking for the early ball over the top but to little avail so far. Higgins and Richmond unable to combine to any real effect so far.

Referee Grahan Kane has let the game flow well this afternoon. Barely any breaks in play.

Best spell for Hendon. Nice interplay between Leon Smith and Nkumu almost creates an opening but Rocks clear. Higgins counters and Gilbey shoots high and wide from 12 yards.

Ball over the top from Stephen is headed clear by Casey Maclaren but the ball drops to Richmond. He takes a touch but shoots over.

Kevin Maclaren floats a ball to the far post but Hughes watches it go harmlessly over the bar. Hendon looking to apply pressure for the first time.

Bryant's excellent close control in the box sees him reach the byline but his cross is cleared by Casey Maclaren. Rocks looking the most likely.

Lewis Smith cuts inside and tries to bend the ball inside the far post. He gets it horribly wrong and slashes wide.

Leon Smith is not having much luck ploughing the lone furrow up front. Ball keeps getting played over the top but the burly number nine is battling both Rocks centre backs.

Kevin Maclaren with a terrific block to deny Smith. Shot was heading in.

Hendon haven't settled at all. Nkumu tries to find space but Rocks win the ball back. O'Leary strikes from 20 yards but the ball is easily claimed by Hughes.

Rocks have started well. Higgins fires in a shot from ten yards but the ball is blocked away.

Updates to come from 2:30pm

Good afternoon and welcome to the Thurrock Gazette's live coverage of East Thurrock vs Hendon in the Ryman Premier Division.
This is a hugely important game as the season enters its final few months with Rocks currently lying in the drop zone. A win against high flying Maidstone in the week came as a huge relief to John Coventry (only Rocks third in their past 17 matches) but Hendon will provide another stiff challenge today.
The Dons have had a pretty successful season so far, lying 8th in the league, and were recently given the good news that their move to a new ground is a step closer - they currently ground share with Harrow Borough. A win today would pull them closer to the play-off places.
East Thurrock will be relying heavily on their three forwards this afternoon, with Bryant, Higgins and Richmond crucial to the home sides prospects.
For the away side, watch out for striker Leon Smith, who has netted four times in his last ten games.
