A FIRE by the side of the c2c railway line between Barking and Dagenham Dock is causing trains to be delayed by around 20 minutes.
The fire, which involves gas bottles, broke out shortly after 4pm.
No trains are running from Barking to Grays via Rainham due to the blaze. All other services - such as those London-bound - are subject to delays of 20 minutes or alterations at short notice.
On Twitter, a c2c spokesman said: "Due to a lineside fire involving gas bottles, all services via Rainham are currently unable to run."
A tweet four minutes later said: "Owing to a line-side fire between Barking and Dagenham Dock services may be delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised at short notice."
The fire brigade are working to put out the fire.
