A MAN who was discovered with a serious head injury in a Grays street has died.
The man, who is believed to be in his 60s, was found on Hathaway Road, near to the junction of Ward Avenue last Thursday (20) shortly before 3am.
He died in Basildon Hospital on Saturday, March 22.
The police are not treating the death as suspicious.
Officers and paramedics were called to the scene following reports of man lying injured near a bicycle with a head injury.
Detectives carried out a series of enquiries to find out whether he had been subjected to an assault. The road was reopened at 7pm later that day.
A file will now be prepared for the coroner ahead of an inquest which will take place in due course.
It is believed the man suffered from long-term illness.
