A NEW Co-op store is due to open next month on the site of a former Corringham pub.
It will be taking over the premises vacated by the Catcracker pub, in The Sorrells, last year.
The shop will have a bakery, sandwiches, hot snacks, an off licence and food from local producers.
Shoppers will be able to purchase lottery tickets and stamps, and pay bills via Paypoint. It is expected to open at the end of April.
The Co-op’s Stuart Hammond said: “I am delighted we are able to bring the brand to The Sorrells. As a community retailer, we are looking forward to not only being of good service but also supporting the community.”
