IS THIS the solution to dodgy and dangerous parking outside Thurrock’s primary schools?
Bulphan Primary School launched its Park and Stride scheme on Monday, which encourages parents and children to park in the car park at Bulphan Village Hall and walk 500 metres down the road to the school.
Julie Cooper, Thurrock Council’s Road Safety Project Co-ordinator was on hand to help.
For the first week, pupils have been given a “passport” and if they walk from home or from the village hall, their passport will be stamped. At the end of the week, any children with 10 stamps receive a prize.
A spokesperson for the school said: “We hope this scheme reduces congestion outside the school and makes the journey to school safer for the whole community.”
