THURROCK is to play host to a “fake festival” for the first time.

The event, which will take place in July on Blackshots playing field, Grays, features a trio of top tribute acts on the bill.

And while fans of Oasis were recently let down when the band announced that it would be releasing “remastered” editions of albums - when many had expected a reunion to celebrate the 20 years since Definitely Maybe came out - the Fake Festival will give fans the chance to see Oasish.

The Noel and Liam Gallagher impersonators are widely regarded as the best Oasis tribute act in Europe and they are headlining the Thurrock Fake Festival.

They are joined on the bill by Really Hot Chili Peppers and New2 - tribute bands to American indie rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bono-led Irish band U2.

A host of support acts - including some locals - have also been confirmed for the line up.

Grays duo Alana Connors and Micky Fredericks of Filthy Gorgeous and self taught Grays guitarist Kaylen Castle - who produces mesmerising songs on one acoustic guitar that sound like they’re being played by a band - will also play on the day.

The Depths, Dasgas, acoustic singer/songwriter Graham Okey and Such Strange Arts make up the other support acts.

The all-day festival starts at 12.30pm and finished at 11pm.

Early bird tickets for the show which are £8 for those aged 10 to 17 and £15 for adults, are on sale until June 26.
