HEAVY goods vehicles parking on The Manorway between the A13 and Coryton is to become a thing of the past after it was declared as a 24-hour clearway.

Following a consultation, Thurrock Council has announced that parking is no longer allowed on the road.

Lorries parking on the road was becoming a problem for residents and those that use the road.

The ban now means it is illegal to park anywhere on the four-mile stretch from the A13 interchange to the Fleet Street roundabout.

Councillor Angie Gaywood, cabinet member for public protection, said: “Our teams are ready and we’ll be working this stretch of road hard with officers and the CCTV car Pippa.

“Lorries should not park on the roadside – anywhere – but in this instance we have been able to take the actions needed to enforce it; and enforce it we will.”
