ENGLAND cricket favourite turned television personality Phil Tufnell is coming to Orsett Hall.

Phil, 47, who racked up 121 Test wickets, will be at the hotel on Friday, March 7.

Tuffers, as the former cricketer is affectionately known, will be speaking about his 16-year career and helping to celebrate Orsett Cricket Club’s 175th anniversary.

He will have plenty to talk about – having taken more that 1,000 wickets in his caereer for Middlesex and England.

Since retiring from the game in 2002, Tufnell has built on the popularity he developed as a sportsman, becoming a well-known TV regular. He won the ITV show I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here in 2003, was a captain on comedy panel show They Think It’s All Over until 2005 and later took over the captaincy of one of the Question of Sport teams on BBC.

Tuffers is also a summariser for BBC Radio’s cricket programme, Test Match Special.

As well as a personal appearance by Tufnell, there will also be an auction, where a holiday is up for grabs.

Tickets are £45 each and are available from Scott Carey on the events team at Orsett Hall. Call 01375 891402, or e-mail events@ orsetthall.co.uk
