THURROCK Council's cabinet members will meet at the High House Production Park on Wednesday night.

The move to hold the meeting in Purfleet is part of a plan to make council meetings more accessible to residents.

Chaired by leader of the council, John Kent, the meeting will discuss proposed fees and charges for the 2015/15 budget and extending the contact for housing related support services for adults with disabilities.

Council Leader, Cllr John Kent, said: “We did try to get out and about into local communities with cabinet and directors’ board members visiting various areas for a year.

“We’ve also said that council meetings should be more accessible for local people to attend. They shouldn’t always have to make their way into Grays to see and scrutinise the democratic process."

Thurrock Council is also looking at the possibility of holding further meetings elsewhere in the borough over the coming months.

Wednesday's meeting will be held in West Wing, High House Production Park, Vellacott Close, starting at 7pm.
