A 13-YEAR-OLD boy was punched and slapped by a group of three men as he walked down a quiet street in Grays.

The teenager claims he was attacked between 6pm and 7pm in Belmont Road on Monday, January 20 but he did not require medical attention.

Police have issued an e-fit of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the attack as they attempt to establish a motive.

All three men drove off in a Black BMW with tinted rear windows.

DI Anne Cameron, the senior investigating officer, said: "We want to establish a motive behind this assault and so need to identify and speak with this man as a matter of priority.

"As well as wanting a name of the man shown in the efit, we are also keen to hear from anyone who saw three black men on Belmont Road or at Grays Beach last Monday evening."

The man in the efit is described as black, is in his late 20s and was wearing dark jeans and a black woolly hat while his accomplices are of similar description.

Anyone with information in connection with this assault is urged to contact detectives at Colchester’s Major Investigation Team on 101, email them on SCDappeals@essex.pnn.police.uk or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

They will be long gone now. Back in Brixton by now. Slapping up more 13 year olds. Hang on, it could be Michael Jackson?

something not quite adding up here..... no attempt to rob the young lad, if the report is accurate......... so attacked by older men for apparently no reason, but with such low severity there is no report of any injuries ? seems odd to me....

Exactly, it could have been a random attack for a laugh but no robbery attempt nor injury and as you indicate grown adults typically don't attack kids for no reason (& if they did you would expect a few bruises at least).

This sentence sums it up : "The teenager CLAIMS he was attacked.."

I care little of his life story either, but if he was born here he’s going nowhere and that will go for his kids too. On and on we go.

I stand corrected, but if he has never set foot in Africa, he will never be returned there. What status would his offspring have if he is still considered African the same as his parents?

Depends on the mother's nationality, if she's brit, then the kids have dual citizenship, they can stay, but then he'd pull the old "right to a family life stunt"

Fortunately Africa is not a member of the EU. However its criminals are protected by European legislation.
