THE Rotary Club of Thurrock Gateway is celebrating a landmark year which saw them undertake their first international mission.
As well as raising funds for Thurrock Mind and Thurrock Women’s Refuge to name but a few, the club, which meets at the Park Inn by Radisson Thurrock Hotel, North Stifford, raised nearly £8,000 alongside a club in India to provide clean water for schools in the country.
In a joint venture with Rotary International and other clubs in India including the Rotary Club of Dabolim Goa, 31 schools in towns including Goa and Karnataka will now benefit from the installation of water purifiers.
