THE kind heartedness of a pupil from Harris Primary Academy helped to raise nearly £800 for the Philippines Typhoon Appeal.

Isobel Bridges, 9, was so moved by what she saw on TV about the disaster last month that she decided that she wanted to help by holding a cake sale at her school and getting her parents to bombard their friends for donations.

In the end, Isobel helped to raise £781.85 for the appeal, including £476.85 at the cake sale.

Her mum Samantha said she was very proud of her daughter.

She said: “I asked why she was so adamant in helping them, her resonance was because I can and it’s the right thing to do, they didn't bring it on themselves.”
