THE Welcome Club is hosting a big weekend of live music.

The venue on Victoria Road, Stanford-le-Hope, welcomes Essex band Exposé tomorrow night for a special Christmas bash.

And on Saturday night, Colchester favourites Jupiter Ray will be playing in the club’s concert hall.

The band, who feature members that used to form popular local band Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, have played at The Welcome Club numerous times.

Formed of bassist Nik Woodham, guitarist Chris Bradshaw, drummer David Carter and frontman Sam Robinson, the band will be playing their lively mix of floorfillers and anthems.

Their Christmas Motown setlist could include the likes of Canned Heat, by Jamiroquai, You To Me Are Everything by the Real Thing and other songs including hits by Luther Vandross, Chic and Cyndi Lauper.

Entry to club’s concert hall is £1 for members and £3 for non-members. Both shows start at 9pm.
