AN investigation has been launched after a fire broke out at a car dealership in Grays.

Fire crews were called to the blaze in Towers Road just before 12am last night.

On arrival, the incident commander reported that "a number" of vehicles were alight and that there were "multiple seats of fire".

This is the 2nd time in 8 weeks that this same car yard has been attacked and the fire was not put out until after 3.30 yesterday morning. Flats in Crescent Court had to be evacuated as the flames were coming over the fence into our car park area and all the cars in our area had to be moved. It is time that this company were either closed down for the safety of the people in Crescent Court or a higher fence was put up. On the last occasion in October 1 man was seen jumping the car yard's fence into Crescent Court before the place went up in flames and Tuesday night 2 men were seen jumping into Crescent Court before the explosions started. This has been a terrifying experience again for all of us living in Crescent Court and something needs to be done about it.
