A GLITTER night at a Corringham charity shop raised more than £700.
The special night at the Thurrock and District Cerebral Palsy society charity shop is held every year.
It sees a big sale of glittery items of clothing, which are collected throughout the year.
On Wednesday, November 20, the shop in Lampitts Hill opened its doors from 6pm until 8pm for the sale. More than £700 was raised as about 50 people passed through the door to mingle, chat, nibble on mince pies and sip wine, while trying on and admiring an array of glittery items.
Shop volunteer Barbara Breed said: “The event went well. We always get a good attendance from local people. They are very loyal, it’s lovely.
“The money goes into the society and to the school, which we run on Wednesdays.”
