Thurrock Gazette: MP Jackie Doyle-Price and ward councillor Maureen Pearce are against the plans MP Jackie Doyle-Price and ward councillor Maureen Pearce are against the plans

THURROCK’S MP has written to Communities Secretary Eric Pickles over a massive housing development plan in Aveley - asking him to reject the proposal.

Jackie Doyle-Price slammed the planning committee’s decision to approve an application for 501 homes on the site on the former Fire Brigade Sports and Social Club, in Aveley three weeks ago.

Ms Doyle-Price said: "The impact of this development on the community of Aveley will be significant and it should be the case that the immediate community is the beneficiary of any monies which are agreed through planning gain as a consequence of this development.”
