  • Grays looking to make it two wins on the spin at home to Boro

Thank you very much for joining me today! A great win for Blues who were very good in the second half.

Full time scores from elsewhere:

Ryman Division One North:

Dereham Town 0 - 2 Thurrock

Harlow Town 2 - 0 Aveley

Romford 1 - 1 Tilbury

Ryman Premier League:

Canvey Island 2 - 1 East Thurrock United

Full time! It's Grays Athletic 2 - 0 Harrow Borough. Great win for Grays!

That's it!!! The second corner is cleared and there's a mad chase back. Shea - who is pretty quick for a keeper - is just beaten to the ball by Hammond. The keeper then slips, taking Hammond down with him, but the ball spills loose to Pope, who slots it home.

GOOOOAAALL!!! GRAYS ATHLETIC 2 - 0 Harrow Borough - Craig Pope, 90 + 4

We're in the dying moments here. All action in the Grays box!!! Shea is up for the corner, it's cleared by Johnson (who wipes out Shea).

The the ball is played across - still not fully cleared. It lands with Lucien whose shot is blocked by three Blues players - including Johnson - who throw themselves in the way of the ball.

Knight AGAIN for Fleet... huge win, that one.

Three minutes added on.

West just receiving treatment after that excellent clearance. He's played well today, held the ball up for his side and brought others into play.

Two minutes or normal to play, excellent header clear from the corner by West.

Flynn blocks a Lucien cross... corner for Boro

Then Joao Carlos tracks back and makes a great sliding tackle to deny Lucien getting a shot away.

On the whole, Blues have defended very well. Another ball is cleared and then Leon Lalite and Kenny Beaney make yet more important tackles in the middle.

On the whole, Blues have defended very well. Another ball is cleared and then Leon Lalite and Kenny Beaney make yet more important tackles in the middle.

And nice play by Akinola tees up Hastinos in the box, but he mis-hits a shot and it goes well wide.

Couple of subs for Harrow. James Fray and Robert Hastinos are on.

Jordan Berry and Callum Willock are off.

Breakthrough! And it's Joao Carlos atoning for his earlier penalty miss.

Flynn's cross from left is deflected high into the box. Carlos - with a masterful touch - brings the ball down, turns his marker and shoots under Shea from close range.

GOOOOAAAALLL!!! GRAYS ATHLETIC 1 - 0 Harrow Borough - Joao Carlos, 78'

Long free kick by Parsons is headed wide by Sankoh.

The game's come to life here!! Great defending by Blues and Carlos is set away down the left. He's really well tackled by Chambers, who plays a great ball through. Johnson gets there just ahead of Willock. The two defences on top here but the game is certainly a little more exciting now.

Hammond just wide!! The striker does well to hold off Horner before chipping the ball over Shea, but just wide. It doesn't go out of play, Small keeps it on and his shot from a very tight angle hits the post!

Borough clear. Close for the hosts.

Carlos breaks down the right for Blues, but loses control of it and it's easy for Chambers to clear.

Then Akinola hits a free kick from 35 yards straight into the Blues wall.

But from set pieces, both sides have been so poor today. Another wry delivery. And Blues clear.

At the other end, Lucien goes close for Borough. He's allowed to travel a long way with the ball at his feet as Blues drop off. He hits a swerving, powerful effort which Johnson palms over.

Great attack by Blues but no final ball. Hammons flicks the ball round the corner to Carlos who is clear. He charges down the right, cuts the ball back, but the ball is behind Hammond and cleared.

Hammond's first involvement is to win a free kick in the niddle of the park.

Grays Ath sub: Dan Fry off, Jeff Hammond on.

Two decent replacements for Blues to be able to bring on. Can they offer any spark?

Grays Athletic - Joel Nouble off for Jared Small (Nouble suffered an injury when fouled for the penalty)

Harrow Borough - Steve Butterworth off, Shaun Lucien on.

Dreadful, dreadful penalty by Carlos. Low, just to Shea's right (only just) and easy for the Arsenal trainee. Really easy.

Great play by Nouble - chases a through ball, he out muscles Chambers and the defender trips him as Nouble then wriggles away.

Beaney's corner is straight over everyone.

Corner for Blues. Nice one-two between Carlos and Flynn, Carlos' cross is blocked...

Butterworth is booked. Not entirely sure why, I think it's for dissent. Certainly not for a bad challenge.

Free kcik for the visitors now. Centre of goal 40 yards out, bounces into Johnson's arms.

Great chance for Harrow. Butterworth is played through by a clever pass from Willock, but the winger miss-kicks it and Johnson can get down to save comfortably.

Two free kicks, one at each end neither come to anything. Both sides seriously lacking a goal threat here.

Blues immediately look for Carlos down the left. He gets  a little luck, Flynn crosses and Shea gathers.

Second half kicks off at Mill Field...

The teams are returning for the second half.

Scores from games involving the borough's other non-league sides:

Ryman Division One North:

Harlow Town 1 - 0 Aveley (former Miller Junior Dadson with the goal there)

Dereham Town 0 - 0 Thurrock - (third vs fourth in the league in Norfolk)

Romford 0 - 0 Tilbury

Ryman Premier League:

Canvey Island 0 - 1 East Thurrock United

Well it's certainly not a spectacle, but the game's well set for a decent second half. Could quite easily go either way.

Nouble and Beaney impressive for Blues. Willock and Parsons Borough's stand out players.

Grays Athletic 0 - 0 Harrow Borough

Seconds later, Parsons crosses excellently, but Sankoh can't reach it.

One minute added on.

Great punch clear by Shea to clear Carlos corner. In turn that sets Boro off on the counter attack. Akinola holds off Lalite, runs at Pope and sends a low shot into Johnson's arms. Great play by the Boro winger.

Hopkin's first goal for Rocks since signing from Thamesmead a fortnight ago!

Barmy moment as Johnson chases a loose ball on left hand edge of the box. He's well beaten to it by Willock. The forward then tries to loop the ball goalward, but the wayward keeper palms it behind.

Great chance now for Blues. Carlos fires a low ball across goal, with Shea at the near post, the ball falls to Fry who seemingly has a simple tap in at the back post, but Parsons makes a terrific sliding block.

Shea gathers the corner.

Beaney breaks up play on the edge of the Blues box and plays the ball to Nouble. Excellent stuff by Beaney. He and Lalite have been excellent defensively.

Yet to see this former Arsenal stopper tested by Blues. But they're on top at the moment.

Actually though, most of these Blues players can play football. Fry skips beyond Parsons and crosses from the right, but his cross swerves out of play. Goal kick.

Been impressed with Nouble. Looks decent with the ball at his feet.

Butterworth jinks inside for Boro before sending a right footed 20 yard shot high over the bar.

Little between these two sides at the moment. Both lacking quality in the final third but even contest in the middle.

Shea watches and catches Carlos' corner well, though.

Butterworth goes down under a strong challenge from Beaney in the Blues box. No pen says the ref - only half hearted appeals from the Boro players.

Blues now resorting to unsuccessful long balls. It's worked this time, as Nouble holds the ball up and plays Pope into the box. He wins a corner...

Poor challenge from Sankoh on Beaney. Advantage played - but squandered. Blues fans unhappy that ref Anthony Da Costa didn't return and book Sankoh.

Akinola strikes, but it's easy for Johnson to gather.

Free kick in a dangerous area now for Boro, just shy of 25 yards from goal, Butterworth and Akinola over it.

Good play in the Boro box now for Blues. Nice interchange between Fry and Nouble, Boro clear a cross, but it comes back to Fry who lashes a shot over when it might have been better to cross.

Better from Blues though.

Flynn with a free kick from the right, cleared on the edge of the six yard box.

And as Borough counter attack, Lalite hacks down Willock and is booked.

Great ball up from the back by Boro. Handball is given against Willock, but he found himself between Gayle and Anderson - worryingly, for Kirby who voices his dissatisfaction.

Another blocked shot, this time as Berry bursts onto the edge of the box.

Blues under the cosh a bit, here, but have a free kick in their own half now and a chance to ease the pressure. Which they do, but it's not long before the ball is back in their half...

Wolleaston into the near post, and two shots in quick succession are blocked by Blues defenders at the near post.

Good tempo to the game now.

As Nouble is played in, he finds himself isolated in the Boro half and the visitors clear. A decent attack by the visitors brings a corner. Blues clear but look uncertain.

Another corner now..

Great stuff from Harrow Borough. They're growing into the game now. Good play in midfield sees the ball worked out to Parsons. His cross from the left is excellent. Willock controls before attempting an overhead kick, which isn't far wide.

Bit of a hairy moment as the ball finds Willock in space in the box. But two good challenges prevent Borough getting a shot away. The second tackle by Gayle is crucial, as the ball spun loose to Sankoh in the box.

A very untidy start by both sides really. Some half decent build up play, but both sides looking a bit flat footed at the back - not that that's being punished by either attack.

Wolleaston has just had the visitors' first shot, shooting well over from 25 yards.

Shea, incidentally, was signed from Arsenal. Until the summer, the stopper was playing with the Gunners' youth and reserve sides. He's been in great form since making the surprise move.

And as I type, Lalite sends Carlos away down the left. But he gets his left footed strike all wrong and fails to test Shea in the Boro goal.

Pretty uneventful start here. Neither keeper has come under any real scrutiny here. Blues have had slightly more possession.

And we're under way at Mill Field...
