CCTV: Police seek two men in relation to teen train robbery
TWO men who claimed to have a gun made off with a passport, mobile phones and headphones belonging to two Chafford Hundred teenagers.
The two 16-year-old boys were on board a train bound for Upminster at Romford when they were approached by two men who demanded they hand over their belongings.
Police have released CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to in relation with the incident which happened at around 7pm on Thursday, October 17.
Both men are thought to have links the Stanford-le-Hope area.
Detective Constable Michael Hatcher, the investigating officer, said: "During their journey, two men, who also boarded at Romford, approached the victims and demanded them to hand over their belongings, including phones, wallets and keys.
"The men threatened them, claiming they had a gun – although no gun was seen - before grabbing one of the boys round the neck.
"Fearing for their safety, the two victims handed over their mobile phones, a passport and headphones.
"As the train arrived into Emerson Park station, the two teenagers left the train before reporting the incident to a local police station."
