PUPILS at a Grays school have raised £1,800 for St Luke’s Hospice through a series of fundraising activities.
Year 9 pupils at Grays Convent School took part in events and challenges including a six-mile sponsored walk, a sweet and cake sales and guess the teacher.
Allison Jones, St Luke’s school’s liaison officer, spoke to the youngsters about the work the basildon-based hospice does to support patients and their families and thanked the girls.
Sarah Jakobek, head of Year 9, said: “We are so proud of the girls. St Luke’s was the charity they chose to support and they have worked hard in so many ways to raise this money.
“We have been invited to visit St Luke’s and will definitely be taking them up on the offer.”
