A CHILDREN’S home is having a reunion.
The Corve Lane children’s home, in South Ockendon, was run by Essex County Council in the 1980s and 1990s.
Under the management of Jenni Randall, who is organising the reunion, the home looked at new ways of providing an environment in which young people who were not able to live with their family could grow up, deal with their difficulties, be cared for and go on to make a life for themselves and their families.
The reunion is on Saturday, October 26, from noon to 5pm in St John’s Church community hall in Grays.
The event has been organised to enable staff and residents who lived there to meet up and remember their time at the project. A book is being written about the experiences of staff and residents at the home.
