Late drama sees Athletic through in FA Trophy
TWO late goals - one in the 90th minute and one in the last minute of extra time - secured Grays Athletic a place in the next round of the FA Trophy.
It was a dramatic night at Herne Bay, on the south bank of the River Thames in Kent as the two sides locked horns in the wet after the tie on Saturday ended in a 1-1 draw.
Brian Moses scored in the dying moments to take the game to extra-time after Stuart King had given Herne Bay the lead four minutes before half-time.
And in the last minute of extra time, up popped centre-half Joe Nightingill to get Blues a last-gasp winner.
Ryan Kirby's men will now face Enfield Town away on Saturday, November 2 when the two sides will battle it out for £3,250 in the second qualifying round.
