Centre to bring in fines for bad parking
7:20am Friday 27th September 2013 in News
INTU Lakeside is bringing in a parking scheme to stamp out illegal parking.
Anyone caught parking on double yellow lines, in disabled bays without a blue badge, outside bays and in parent and child bays when children aren’t with them will be fined.
Bosses said the rules will be conducted sensitively and reasonably, rather than with a zero tolerance approach, with practical measures introduced to keep particular spaces free.
There are 13,000 free parking spaces at the shopping centre.
Izzie Peskett, marketing manager at Lakeside, said: “We’re confident this new approach will make parking here even easier and further improve our customers’ experience.
“This is not a profit-making scheme as any money that is brought in will be used to cover the costs of running the enforcement programme.”
It will launch on Tuesday, October 1.
