Mash it up with RM19

THE Royal Opera House Thurrock Youth Vocal Group is holding a taster session.

RM19 are calling on anyone who loves singing, has a passion for music and is keen to work with like-minded performers to come along to a free taster session on Saturday, September 28.

The group is dynamic and diverse. It comes up with zaney mash-ups, such as mixing opera with rap or by adding vocals to classical musical pieces.

RM19 – made up of youngsters aged between 11 and 25 – celebrates collaboration and the power of the voice.

It is open to anyone living in Thurrock who loves music, wants to sing and is keen to experiment with different musical styles.

No previous experience is needed for the taster sessions, which starts at 2pm and finishes at 4pm at the Backstage Centre on High House Production Park in Purfleet, but registering is essential.

* A QUIZ night will be held to raise money for the Tilbury Christmas Lights.

Organised by the Tilbury Riverside Project, it will be held on Saturday, October 26, from 7.30pm at St John’s Church, in Dock Road.

It costs £4 per person and those attending are asked to bring their own drink and nibbles. For more details, call 01375 859911.
